A new media that I was thinking about, which I'm not certain if it already exist, is a platform solely for people to learn from each other.
The design would be like a dating app, in the sense that people would have to match to each other using information they filled in. However, instead of personal information, people would put in skill that they have that they can teach other people and skills that they would like to learn from someone else. For example, if I know how to crochet and I wanted to learn how to bake brownies and someone else knows how to bake and wanted to learn how to crochet, then we would match and be able to teach each other. Using the app or website, people can schedule to meet somewhere where there's a lot of people, for safety reasons, or meet online through Zoom or some other platforms.
It would allow people who need to physically do an activity to learn how to do it and get their questions asked on the spot. It would also make everyone feel like they matter since they all bring something to the table. If ran well, it would become a community of users who share a number of skills, which can lead to larger group gatherings to do these activities together, after the pandemic ends.
I like your idea of new media in the future, it's not limited in work and it will be combined with personal interest closely. It's also different with the traditional date way, people don't have to meet each other offline. The internet provide more possibilities and it make people safer. According to online platforms, people's actions of sharing interests are being more pure. Maybe this will attribute a huge and free studying resources. When people are sharing their skills, they will improve their own skills and learn more from others.
ReplyDeleteSharing skills is a lot better than trumped up attributes. The unique twist on dating forces people to be more honest . A participant can poke fun at what they can't do and share what they can. The building blocks to a relationship is shared interest and trust , I think you have something. Good post.
