Creativity and New Media

When I came across the words "avatar in second life," what I immediately thought of was a replica of myself or who I want to be or look like.

I find that a lot of games, especially those with user interactions, allow us to make our own avatar. During quarantine, I spent a lot of time playing games with my friends and family, and one of which is PUBG. When I first made the account, it made me choose things like my gender, whether or not I have a ponytail, long, or short hair, and what my skin color is. The game gave us a very basic attire and then provided space for us to buy clothing and other accessories. From the clothing and accessories, you can tell things like if a person spent real money on the game and if the person's been playing for a long time.

I like to customize my avatar with things I would wear or would like to wear. Below I have attached an image of how my friends and I looked the other day while we were playing.

  1. Very Interesting! In daily life, I usually connect the virtual games with the creativity of new media too. We can choose our styles freely in virtual games, which makes our second life comes true. And I believe VR/ARwith games will be the trend in the future . Even though the majority of games released in 2019 and 2020 are non-VR games. But in the end of 2020, PS5 and X-Box are going to the game market, which means VR games are at the beginning of the industry, and virtual reality will become more and more common in the future.
